Where Is/Was This?

Does anyone know where this is/was? Galley is the nautical term for kitchen so perhaps it was near water.

Ann’s Galley was located on Mound Road in Warren, Michigan. The restaurant was owned and operated by Ann and Charlie Grimes during the 1940’s and 1950’s. Sadly, Ann’s Galley no longer exists.

Hi Anonymous,

I’m glad you enjoyed seeing the picture! Who was your Great Grandmother? Was it Ann Grimes? Do you have any other information about Ann’s Galley?

Sorry just saw this, my great grandmother was Elizabeth Ann Grimes and she married Charlie Grimes after her husband died. He owned Grimes Barber Shop in Warren which is still in business today but no longer owned by any family members. I have a coupe pics of the restaurant but this was the first time I saw this one.

Apparently the restaurant was known for their 5 cent pork cutlet sandwiches and was a local hangout for all the area high school students. Someone had a menu in the family but over the years it has disappeared.
