A little girl receiving her first lessons in photography. I bet she would be surprised to learn that any pictures she may have taken that day are now known as "vernacular photography" and may appear in a "photo blog" somewhere on the "internet." The photo is from the 1940's.

North American International Auto Show

The North American International Auto Show was held this past week in Detroit. The show is now a "big deal" but when I was a kid it was simply known as "the new car show." The car in the photo is a 1939 Dodge.

Mystery Toy

Can anyone identify the riding toy in the picture? I played with a much newer model as a kid but never knew the proper name for the toy. For you antique car buffs, the car at the extreme left of the photo is an early Chrysler. The photo is from approximately 1925.
