Castle Rock

Castle Rock is located in St. Ignace, Michigan. The rock rises almost 200 feet into the air and provides an excellent view of both Mackinac Island and Lake Huron.

Columbus Day

In 1492, Christopher Columbus aboard his flagship the Santa Maria set sail for the New Word. In 1936, the Cuthbertson Boat Works of Algonac, Michigan, built a replica of the Santa Maria, the Santa Maria II. Sadly, the boat was dismantled in 1962.

In the early 1940’s my Grandfather was on Harsen’s Island when he filmed the Santa Maria II. Click below to view this brief but rare footage!
