Unusual night time photo showing a cars driving down a well lit street. The building in the background appears to be a Cunningham's Drug Store. The photo is from the 1940's.

Home Sweet Home

This photo goes back quite a long way. It probably dates from the late 1800's or early 1900's. The house appears to have a fieldstone foundation. Note the lightning rod on the roof.

Wedding

You don't see a wedding party like this much anymore. It looks like something out of a Hollywood production. The photo is from the 1940's.

My Dinner With Rover

Rover's table manners were never the best and he didn't have much to say but Edna didn't mind as he always ate what she made for him. The photo is from the 1950's.

Uncle Frank

When people find out that I collect vintage photographs, the first question they usually ask is "Have you ever found a picture of someone you know?" The answer is yes. The above photo is of my late Uncle Frank. He is in the back row, second from the left. I found this photo, actually a negative, in a collection of over 10,000 negatives that I acquired a few years ago. Uncle Frank was a veteran of World War II. He was known in the family for his extremely corny jokes. Uncle Frank along with my Aunt Violet gave me my one and only red wagon. For some reason, perhaps because of the "Space Race" of the 1960's, the wagon was not a Radio Flyer but a Radio Missile. I still have the wagon to this day. The photo is from 1953.

Blue Monday

Years ago, all the clothes were washed on Monday. Hence the terms "Blue Monday" or "Wash Day Blues." Automatic washing machines, like the kind we have now, were not popular until after World War II. The photo is from the 1940's.

Bar

When I was a kid, everyone seemed to have a "bar" in their basement. They often looked just like this one. I don't remember anyone ever using their bar. The photo is from 1968.

Back To School

No three words strike more fear in children than "Back To School." When I was a kid, I used to hate seeing "Back To School" displays going up in the stores. From the way the little boy in the picture is joyously running, I would guess that school has let out for the day! The photo is from the 1940's.

Requested By: Jan

Jan requested: "More college boys in college sweaters!"

Check out these guys! Aren't they dreamy? The second guy even has a Boston Terrier puppy. Awwwww!

The photos are from the 1940's.
