Requested By: Julia

Julia requested: "Amusement parks, carnivals, circuses...."

Balancing acts! Lions! Tigers! And more!! I believe these are photos from the Shrine Circus, which was held for many years at the State Fairgrounds in Detroit, Michigan. As I child, I attended this circus several times. The pictures are from the late 1940's.

Requested By: Becky

Becky requested: "I'd love to see some typical teens of the mid-sixties.. perhaps some Beatlemaniacs?"

While not quite a teen, this guy certainly seems to be a Beatlemaniac. If this photo looks familiar, that is because it was previously posted on Swapatorium.

So with that in mind, here is a "never before seen until now" photo.

Three teen girls hanging out with their 1960 Chevrolet.
Wonder wich one is Becky? The photo is from 1963.

Tin Lizzie

The Model T, affectionately known as the "Tin Lizzie," was designed by Henry Ford and built by the Ford Motor Company from 1908 until 1927. At one time 9 out of every 10 cars in the world was a Model T! The production line allowed for the cars to be built quickly and in the late 1920's a new one could be purchased for less than $300! The photo is from the 1920's.
